Attack on Bukhari proves Terror has no religion : BJP state spokesman | KNO

SRINAGAR June 15 (KNO) ;  Bhartiya Janata Party ( BJP) state spokesman Altaf Thakur while strongly condemning the killing of senior journalist and Editor in Chief of daily Rising Kashmir stated that the attack was cowardice and barbaric in all forms and it has once again been proved that terror has no religion. In a statement issued here, Thakur said that Bukhari was a veteran journalist who always worked to bring truth to the fore and never compromised with the facts while discharging his duties.

He said attacking people like Bukhari in press colony has shattered entire journalist fraternity as they have lost the doyen of journalism who remained on the forefront to press for the issues of journalistic fraternity. Thakur said through such gruesome attacks, the voices of truth can't be silenced. He said by killing Shujaat, those behind the act have actually killed humanity and justice which reflects the attackers had no honour for fearless and true journalism. Thakur while demanding a thorough probe to bring the perpetrators of the crime to book said in Shujaat's death and genuine and credible violence has been silenced by those who even didn't have a respect for the pious occasion of Eid ul Fitr.

He said BJP stands with the bereaved familywhich includes two small children of Shujaat, in this hour of grief and shock and prays to Almighty to grant highest standards to the slain in heaven. BJP' Kashmir unit expresses solidarity with the entire .media fraternity in this hour of shock and grief.
